So to speak, anyway.
All right, Prufrock prep. The Bauds spent one bok there, and the series really began to get suspenseful, as the Bauds meet the Quags (almost definitely VFDers), and things really begin to take off.
But is there more to Prufrock then meets the eye? Balyrina thinks there might be, and let's look at the things she says about it. I'll bring up her points, and then my thoughts about each one.

- They had a librarian there who said coded messages.
Definitely a VFD Trait. We know the Librarian there was a VFDer, because of of LSUA, and the excerpt from the Carmeltia Spats book. Apparently, the librarian has been there for a while, and thus is pretty ensconced in the Prufrock hierarchy. - There's that Mrs. K, who dragged two kids out by their ankles.
This is also from LSUA, in the letter that Nero wrote to Geraldine Julienne, I think. K, who is more then likely Jacques wife, and thus Lemony's sister-in-law (see the VFD Tree page for more info on that), found and recruited these two twins from Prufrock Prep. She had to suddenly leave because of Nero, who received an article from G.J., and summarily fired her. As he did, though, she picked up two children by the ankles, and ran off. K had been there, and was trying to introduce the children to the coded literature that is later discussed in the book.
- Mr. Remora gives the children stories to take notes on (VFD skill.)
Now that is something I honestly had not considered. The fact that they took notes on the stories, possibly as a way of seeing who was good at taking notes, and who wasn't... and then using that info to decide who to "Volunteer" next. Very definite possibility. And the fact that K came in to take his place afte rhe almost choked on a banana... seems kind of planned, almost, to me.
- Mr. Remora wanted the B's to remain at Prufrock Prep, maybe until someone came to drag THEM away by their ankles.
This is dubious at best, and I don't think seems very likely, though of course, it's possible. If Remora is a VFDer, then why didn' the just take them himself? Probably because they were too old to be successfully brought in to the organization? Or maybe they were too big to be carried off by their ankles... - They probably let an idiot like Vice Principal Nero run the place because he'll be too busy mutilating violin music to notice what's really going on.
That's true. The VFDer's would probably do something like that. He would think he was in charge, but he was too busy thinking abotu something else. - The REAL principal might be in V.F.D.
THis is more conjecture then any actual possibility, but the fact that we never even heard MENTION of the principal is something important, I think. Who was the prinicpal? Why was he not mentioned? More questions then answers, I'm afraid. More questions then answers.
